Privacy policy

How Catalyst Glass and Aluminum Ltd. collects, uses and protects personal information. Last updated 22/10/2026.

1. Who we are

Catalyst Glass and Aluminum Ltd. ("Catalyst", "we", "us") supplies and installs windows, doors and glazing. We are based at 25771 102 Ave, Maple Ridge, BC, Canada. We handle personal information in line with British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and, where it applies, Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). To reach us about privacy, see section 13.

2. What we collect

We collect only what we need to answer you, prepare a quote and carry out your project.

  • Quote request form: your name, company, email, phone and project address; whether you are a homeowner, builder, architect or other; your project details and notes; any optional answers such as project number, drawing revision, install timing, architect of record, project type and budget; and any files you attach, such as drawings, photos or energy reports.
  • Callback form on our vehicle QR page: your name, phone number and project type.
  • Contact form: your name, email, phone number, the topic you pick and your message. It is sent to our office, and we email you one confirmation with a reference number.
  • Email and phone: whatever you choose to send us, including job applications.
  • Vehicle QR codes: if you reach the site by scanning a QR code on one of our vehicles, we note which vehicle it was and count scans and requests for each vehicle. We do not record your IP address or device details for this count.
  • Technical information: our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request, so it can deliver the site and protect it from abuse. We do not use it to identify you.

We do not ask for payment card, banking or Social Insurance Number details through this website.

3. How we use it

We use your information to:

  • Answer your enquiry or quote request, prepare estimates and arrange site visits
  • Share project details with manufacturers, suppliers and trade partners when they need them to price, supply or install your project
  • Carry out and manage your project, from drawings through ordering, installation and follow-up
  • Consider job applications
  • Keep the business, tax and warranty records the law requires
  • Keep this website working and secure

We use your information only for these purposes, or as the law permits or requires. By sending it to us, you consent to this use. You can withdraw your consent at any time (see section 10), but we may then be unable to quote or carry out your project.

After you send a quote request or a contact message, we email one confirmation to the address you gave us. It shows your reference number, when we received your request and the names of the files you sent. Apart from that, we only email you about your enquiry, quote or project. We do not send marketing emails or newsletters, and we do not add you to a mailing list.

4. Who we share it with

We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers.

We share project information with manufacturers, suppliers and trade partners only as far as they need it for your project.

We use these service providers to run the business. They handle information on our behalf to provide their service:

  • Cloudflare: hosts this website, runs the quote request form and stores a back-up copy of each quote request and its files
  • Resend: delivers the email that carries each quote request and its files to our office, and sends you the confirmation email
  • Google Workspace: our email and document storage
  • QuickBooks Online (Intuit): invoicing and accounting
  • Dropbox: storage for drawings and CAD files

We may also share information with our professional advisers, such as our accountant, lawyer or insurer, when they need it, and where the law requires us to.

5. Where it is stored

The service providers above are based in the United States and may store or process your information in the United States or other countries outside Canada. Information held outside Canada is subject to the laws of the country where it is held, and may be accessible to the courts, law enforcement and national security authorities of that country.

If you would rather not send files through the quote form, you can email them to us instead, or call us to talk about other ways to share them.

6. How long we keep it

When you send a quote request, the details and files go to our office by email, and a back-up copy is stored on our Cloudflare account. Only Catalyst can open the back-up copy, and it is deleted automatically after 2 years.

We keep other information only as long as we need it to respond to you and carry out your project, for any warranty that applies, and as required by tax and other laws. After that we delete it or dispose of it securely.

To ask us to delete your quote details and files sooner, email [email protected] with the reference number from your confirmation screen, or your name and email address. We will confirm when it is done. If the law requires us to keep something, we will tell you.

7. How we protect it

Access to your information is limited to the people at Catalyst who need it for your enquiry or project. Our service providers protect the information they hold with their own security measures.

No system is completely secure. If a breach affects your information, we will notify you and the privacy regulators as the law requires.

8. Cookies and browser storage

This site does not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and it does not load third-party tracking scripts. It saves a few small settings in your browser: your light or dark theme choice and, for the current tab only, short-lived items such as which vehicle QR code brought you to the site. These settings stay on your device. The vehicle is sent to us only if you submit a request.

9. Instagram feed

Our projects page and vehicle QR page show recent posts from our Instagram account. The images and videos in that feed are passed through our own server, so viewing them does not connect your browser to Instagram or Meta. If you follow a link to Instagram or Facebook, their own privacy policies apply.

10. Your rights

You can ask us to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you, and tell you how it has been used and who it has been shared with
  • Correct information that is wrong or out of date
  • Withdraw your consent to our use of your information
  • Delete information we no longer need and are not required by law to keep

Send requests to [email protected]. We may need to confirm your identity first. We will respond within the time the law allows.

If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

11. Children

This site is meant for adults and businesses. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy, for example when we add a service provider or change how we handle information. The date at the top of this page shows when it last changed.
